The Sylvaner history

Originating from Transylvania, the Sylvaner made its first appearance in Alsace in the 18th century.

Tasting of the Sylvaner

The late maturing Sylvaner is by definition a dry, fresh and gentle wine, equipped with a pleasant liveliness.

Food and wine pairing

The Sylvaner accompanies shellfish, terrines, soufflés, pork-butcheries, eggs and salads.

The vine

The Sylvaner is best suited for the lighter sandy and stony soils. It is not a particularly vigorous plant, but its production is constant and reliable.
